Wild Yılkı Horses Enjoy Freedom on Antalya Plains

Yılkı horses were while recorded while enjoying their freedom with their offspring on the 90,000 hectare Eynif Plain located in the Ormana District of Antalya’s İbradı district, Türkiye.

“These Yılki horses are from the Ottoman period, they belonged to cavalrymen units. They were released because warhorses could not be used in agriculture. They breed and increase in number every year. Their population is estimated to exceed one thousand,” said Tolga Özgüven, a tourism manager.
