A wildfire in Miryang, South Gyeongsang province, South Korea, burned 143 hectares—about 200 football fields—before being brought under control after 20 hours. The Korea Forest Service said more than 50 helicopters and 1,500 personnel were deployed to fight the blaze.
No casualties were reported, but 156 residents were evacuated as a precaution. Authorities issued a Level 2 wildfire response and a national mobilization order during the operation.
