A forest fire that broke out in Hamyang, South Gyeongsang province, South Korea, has been burning for three days, destroying at least 190 hectares of land. The Korea Forest Service said only 32 percent of the blaze had been contained as of early morning.
More than 600 personnel, dozens of fire trucks and 51 helicopters have been deployed, while strong winds and hilly terrain hamper efforts. Authorities issued a Level 2 forest fire response and a national mobilization order as firefighting operations continue.
