The current extent of the burnt area in the Portugal wildfire is reported as fifteen hectares. The fire taking over Covilha area and some parts of the Serra da Estrela National Park is being handled by 641 firefighters, 498 vehicles and 9 airplanes for now. The fire seems to be spreading to the near areas.
European Forest Fire Information System records indicate that a total of 587.868 hectares have burnt this year.
