Wildfires Rage in North and South Carolina

Wildfires in North and South Carolina have burned over 4,000 acres, prompting evacuation orders and emergency declarations. In North Carolina’s Polk County, the Black Cove and Deep Woods fires remain uncontrolled, while the Fish Hook fire is 50% contained. A “Code Red” air quality warning has been issued.

In South Carolina, the Table Rock fire has spread to 110 acres, forcing trail closures. Firefighting aircraft and military helicopters are battling the flames. Authorities have banned open fires statewide as investigations into the causes continue.
