Millions worldwide celebrated the arrival of the Year of the Snake with traditional festivals, fireworks, and prayers. Marking the transition from the Year of the Dragon, festivities took place across China, South Korea, Japan, Myanmar, and other countries.
As part of the Lunar New Year, also known as the Spring Festival, people gathered at temples to pray for good fortune. At midnight, fireworks lit up the skies, ushering in the new year, which is also called “Tết” in Vietnam and “Seollal” in Korea.
