Xi and Putin Address China-Russia Partnership in New Year Messages

 

Chinese President Xi Jinping, in a New Year’s message to Russian President Vladimir Putin, emphasized the enduring partnership between the two nations, rooted in neutrality, non-conflict, and non-targeting of third parties. Xi marked 2024 as the 75th anniversary of China-Russia diplomatic ties, praising their stable and deepened relations amid global challenges.

Xi highlighted mutual trust, strategic coordination, and collaboration in global platforms like BRICS and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), expressing a commitment to strengthen bilateral ties and foster global peace and development.

Putin, in his message, echoed Xi’s sentiments, affirming readiness to enhance cooperation in 2024 and beyond, emphasizing the importance of their partnership for international stability and security.
