Xi Meets Putin In Beijing

 

Chinese President Xi Jinping met Russian President Vladimir Putin in Beijing during Victory Day events marking Japan’s defeat in World War II. The leaders discussed strengthening their strategic partnership, expanding cooperation, and addressing global and regional issues.

Xi called China-Russia ties a “model in interstate relations,” stressing joint efforts to defend historical truth and build a fairer global order. Putin, addressing Xi as “my dear friend,” said relations have reached an unprecedented level, highlighting their shared role as WWII victors and ongoing commitment to international justice.
