Four athletes from the 13-person national judo team, who were camping at the Palandöken Ski Center in the Erzurum province of Türkiye, were buried under an avalanche in the area where they went for morning training. Three of the athletes were rescued but 16-year-old Turkish national athlete Emre Yazgan lost his life.
