Young Turkish Arm-Wrestler Wins 2 Gold Medals in International Competitions

Twenty-two-year-old Turkish arm wrestling competitor Ömer Kozakoğlu won 2 gold medals, one in the European Arm Wrestling Championship held in Slovakia and the other in the World Arm Wrestling Championship held in Moldova. The young athlete, who has been doing arm wrestling for 5 years, even managed to eliminate his experienced opponent, who is an 11-time world champion in the 80-class he competed in.

“I am proud to have represented Türkiye in the best way possible. I am grateful to my club, Kağıtspor, and my family and friends who supported me during this process. We knew that I had a great opponent before the match. I went out and played my match, ignoring the words ‘you can’t beat him” and “you can’t do it’ from those around me. The match was the longest in the world championship this year. It lasted about 22 minutes, including objections. Endurance and belief were important,” said the Turkish athlete.
