Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky visited the city of Bakhmut in the Donetsk region, which has been the scene of violent clashes with Russia since August. Presenting their awards to the soldiers, Zelensky thanked the soldiers for their courage while repelling the attacks of the Russian army.
Zelensky also held a minute’s silence for the soldier who lost his life in the war after receiving a report from the commander on the operational situation and logistical support proposals.
Bakhmut has been under Ukrainian control since the war began. The fierce clashes continue in the city that was destroyed by Russian bombardments.
