Following his tense meeting with Donald Trump at the White House in the USA yesterday, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky appeared on the American television channel Fox News and responded to the reporter’s question on if he would apologize to US President Donald Trump as “I’m not sure we did anything wrong.”
The Ukrainian president stated that the tension experienced in front of the cameras was not good for either side but added, “I was very clear, but I cannot change Ukraine’s attitude towards Russia.” Emphasizing that he has great respect for democracy and a free press, Zelenskyy argued that some delicate topics should be discussed without the press.
Zelensky responded positively when asked if he thought his relationship with Trump could improve and said that the ties between the USA and Ukraine were much deeper than the individual relationship between the two presidents and thanked the American people again for their support for Ukraine.
He also stated that Ukraine is ready to sign an agreement with Putin if its fair and brings lasting peace and Ukraine is in a strong position.
