Türkiye-based Ihlas Holding and its strategic partners have officially launched the $3 billion Kazarman Hydroelectric Power Plant project, marking the single largest investment in Kyrgyzstan’s history. With a massive 912-megawatt capacity, the new facility is expected to boost the nation’s total electricity output by 20 percent and eliminate its current energy deficit.
Highlighting the project’s regional significance, Ihlas Holding Chairman Ahmet Mücahid Ören stated, “Today marks the first step in İhlas Holding’s growth in the energy sector,” while noting that further Central Asian expansions are already underway. Turkish Ambassador Mekin Mustafa Kemal Ökem underscored the economic weight of the deal, noting it will “almost triple the existing amount” of historic Turkish investments in the country and position Kyrgyzstan as a future energy exporter
