Taiwan’s Meteorological Department issued a warning about Typhoon Haikui, which is expected to intensify its impact starting Sunday evening. The typhoon is set to affect the eastern and southern regions of Taiwan, particularly Hualian and Taitung cities, with wind speeds exceeding 130 kilometers per hour. In response, schools and workplaces will close in these areas on Sunday, and a public holiday has been declared in Taiwan’s Penghu Islands for Sunday afternoon.
