wandering deer with car tyre stuck on its neck freed after 2 years

Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) officials in the USA announced that the deer that had been wandering with a car tyre on its neck for 2 years was finally found and freed from the tyre.  The officials stated that the inside of the tyre was full of dirt and added weight to the animal. “It was very difficult to remove,” said Scott Murdoch, who was involved in the rescue, noting only that the deer had a small wound on its neck and hair loss after cutting its antlers to get rid of the tyre. Murdoch said the deer was in surprisingly good condition.

The rescue was the 4th attempt by the officers in last week. Previous attempts to tranquilize the deer had failed, because wildlife officials could not get close enough and other deer were nearby.
