Explosion in Lithuania-Latvia pipeline

Gas transmission center operator Amber Grid reported an explosion in pipeline near the city of Paswol in northern Lithuania that provides natural gas transmission between Lithuania and Latvia. The explosion occurred in an area outside the city center and no casualties or injuries were recorded during initial examinations, said says the company.

The gas line between the two countries consists of two opposite pipes and the explosion affected only one of them, meaning that the gas flow on the other side is unproblematic.
