Romania’s Peleş Castle Information Now Available in Turkish

With support from the Yunus Emre Institute, all information at Romania’s Peleş Castle has been translated into Turkish as part of the “My Guide is Turkish Project.” This initiative, in collaboration with the Romanian Ministry of Culture, aims to translate information notes, printed materials, and audio guides in all Romanian museums into Turkish by the end of 2024.

The project was launched with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on June 13, attended by Turkey’s Ambassador to Bucharest Özgür Kıvanç Altan, Yunus Emre Institute Romania Director Mustafa Yıldız, and Peleş Castle Director Narcis Dorin Ion. A plaque was installed at the museum’s entrance to commemorate the event.

Ambassador Altan highlighted the significance of the project, stating, “With this initiative, Turkish-speaking visitors can now enjoy museums and historical sites in their native language. Peleş Castle is now welcoming guests from Turkey and other Turkish-speaking countries in Turkish.”

The “My Guide is Turkish Project” will extend to all major museums in Romania, enhancing the experience for the approximately 300 million Turkish speakers worldwide.
