US President Donald Trump announced a 6-month suspension on international students entering the US to attend Harvard University on academic, professional, or exchange visas.
Citing national security concerns, the White House accused Harvard of failing to provide adequate data on foreign students and underreporting disciplinary issues. Trump claimed the university’s lack of transparency makes it unfit for hosting international students.
The State Department was also instructed to review visa cancellations for current foreign students at Harvard. The administration criticized the university for lax oversight and prioritizing diversity efforts over security.
