A major blow was dealt to the terrorist organization PKK in Iraq by Iraqi Kurdish Regional Government (IKRG). The Counter-Terrorism Unit of the IKRG in northern Iraq announced that the PKK’s plan against the IKRG was blocked and a large number of ammunition and explosives were seized. The Counter-Terrorism Unit stated that as a result of the efforts of the IKRG Security Council to ensure the safety of citizens, 1 metric ton of PETN explosives, 10 9M113 Konkurs anti-tank missiles, 23 attack drone engines, 1,200 gas masks and 375 AK-47 spare magazines belonging to the terrorist organization PKK were seized on April 17 within the border of Duhok province.

Also Unit told that the accused Yunus Ahmet obtained the explosives and weapons through a PKK terrorist named Rudi Hüseyin and reported that Ahmet admitted that he would hand over the explosives and weapons to the terrorist organization PKK in order to carry out an action in the KRG.
