Israeli soldiers opened fire to disperse crowds at the first aid distribution point of the US-backed Gaza Humanitarian Relief Foundation (GHF) in Rafah. Witnesses said tanks fired randomly, causing injuries among civilians seeking aid.
Palestinian Ahmed Abu Muslim said, “It was very difficult to get aid and they were firing randomly at civilians.”
The Israeli army claimed only “warning shots” were fired. The UN condemned the operation, calling the scenes “heartbreaking” and criticized the GHF’s model as incompatible with humanitarian standards.
