While the Israeli army resumes its attacks on the Gaza Strip, Palestinians in East Jerusalem and the West Bank flocked to the Al-Aqsa Mosque to perform the third Friday prayer of Ramadan. Around 125,000 Muslims prayed in the mosque, said local sources.
Israeli forces continue to impose age-related restrictions on Palestinians in the West Bank, not allowing many of them to enter Jerusalem.
Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova confirmed that Russia officially recognizes Karabakh as part of Azerbaijan. The statement followed backlash over Russian Vice President Vladimir Medinsky’s remarks referring to the region as “disputed.”
Zakharova clarified that Medinsky was discussing the humanitarian aspect of the conflict and urged against misinterpreting his words. Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry criticized Medinsky’s comments and reminded that Russia’s official stance recognizes Karabakh as Azerbaijani territory.
