A 15-year-old suspect was detained yesterday as part of the investigation launched following the knife attack at the festival in Solingen, Germany. The Düsseldorf Public Prosecutor’s Office is investigating whether the suspect is connected to the incident.
On Friday, a knife-wielding assailant attacked people at the festival, organized to mark the 650th anniversary of Solingen’s establishment, killing 3 people and injuring 8 others, 5 of whom were seriously injured. The attack was claimed by the Islamic State yesterday.
