A river overflowing due to heavy rainfall dealt severe damage to the Bushushu and Nyamukubi villages in South Kivu province of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. South Kivu Governor Theo Ngwabidje Kasi reported that 176 people lost their lives and many disappeared. Search and rescue efforts continue.
