The event, which began on Thursday and will last a month, will feature 649 pieces by 493 artists from over 100 nations.

Six artists received honorary awards, and three received grand prizes.

After the jury’s chairman, artist Rafiqun Nabi, presented the winners, KM Khalid, Bangladesh’s State Minister for Cultural Affairs, accepted the prizes on behalf of the Prime Minister.

Iceland Evacuates Town as Volcano Erupts Again

A volcano on Iceland’s Reykjanes Peninsula erupted again, prompting the evacuation of the town of Grindavik and a nearby spa center. The Icelandic Meteorological Office reported that the eruption began at 09:45 local time, forming a 700-meter-long crack in the ground.

Authorities had closed off the area before the eruption. The volcano, which last erupted in December 2023, has been intermittently active since 2021.
