Israeli forces once again targeted journalists, causing serious injuries to Qatar-based Al Jazeera news channel reporter Ismail Abu Omar and cameraman Ahmad Matar in Rafah city, southern Gaza Strip. The incident occurred amid escalated Israeli attacks in the area. The journalists, covering the plight of displaced Palestinian families, were rushed to Khan Yunis’s European Hospital by medical teams. Reporter Omar lost a leg in the attack and underwent surgery.

Official sources report that, since October 7, Israel has killed 126 journalists, and 10 others have been detained in the Gaza Strip.
