2 Journalists Seriously Injured in Israeli Attack

Israeli forces once again targeted journalists, causing serious injuries to Qatar-based Al Jazeera news channel reporter Ismail Abu Omar and cameraman Ahmad Matar in Rafah city, southern Gaza Strip. The incident occurred amid escalated Israeli attacks in the area. The journalists, covering the plight of displaced Palestinian families, were rushed to Khan Yunis’s European Hospital by medical teams. Reporter Omar lost a leg in the attack and underwent surgery.

Official sources report that, since October 7, Israel has killed 126 journalists, and 10 others have been detained in the Gaza Strip.

Aziz Sancar Receives Turkic States Award in Budapest

Nobel laureate Prof. Dr. Aziz Sancar was honored with the Ali Şir Nevai International Award during the Organization of Turkic States Informal Summit in Budapest.

TDT Secretary General Kubanychbek Omuraliyev praised Sancar for his scientific achievements and cultural contributions to the Turkic world. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban congratulated Sancar at the ceremony.

Calling the award “an honor,” Sancar thanked Erdoğan for his nomination and Hungary for hosting the summit, recalling his childhood admiration for Hungarian football.
