Twenty people were injured in a 30-vehicle pile-up due to smog in Pakistan’s Sheikhupura M2 highway. The injured were taken to the hospitals. Long queues of vehicles formed on the highway following the series of accidents.
Andriy Portnov, former aide to ex-Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych, was shot dead in Madrid’s upscale Pozuelo de Alarcon district. Spanish authorities say unidentified gunmen opened fire as the 52-year-old was dropping off his children at school, striking him in the back and head before fleeing.
Portnov, a former MP and lawyer, fled Ukraine with Yanukovych in 2014, briefly returned in 2019, and was later sanctioned by the U.S. for alleged judicial corruption.
