Hadis Najafi, 20, died after getting shot by security forces during the protests in Iran following the death of Mahsa Amini. According to reports, Najafi was injured in the abdomen, neck, heart, and hand as a result of the September 21 fire and died at Ghaem Hospital, where she was taken.
In a statement, Najafi’s older sister said, “She was only 20 years old. Her heart ached for Mahsa Amini. She stated that she would not be silent. She was killed with six bullets.”
Egyptian media reports that ceasefire talks between Hamas and Israel in Gaza, mediated by Qatar and Egypt, are set to resume next week. Israel is awaiting Hamas’s response to the ceasefire offer.
Israeli and US delegations, who were in Doha for negotiations, have returned home for consultations. The current agreement being discussed includes the exchange of hostages and prisoners, with plans for further talks on a permanent ceasefire and the release of additional hostages.
