After the police raid on the Masjid al-Aqsa in the Old City of occupied East Jerusalem on April 4 that increased the tension in the region, numerous Palestinians flocked to the mosque on the third Friday of Ramadan to pray Taraweeh. The Islamic Foundations Administration of Jerusalem stated that 200,000 people were present during the night. Meanwhile, Israel took strict measures to prevent any adverse situation.
