In a deadly attack in Pakistan’s Balochistan province, armed militants stopped buses and trucks on a highway, checking passengers’ IDs before killing 23 people. The attackers, reportedly from the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), claimed those killed were soldiers in civilian clothes. According to Najibullah Kakar, a senior official in the Musakhel district, the militants, numbering between 30 and 40, targeted vehicles traveling between Punjab and Balochistan, specifically identifying and shooting passengers from Punjab. Following the massacre, several vehicles were set on fire.

Russia and Ukraine carried out their first exchange of prisoners under 25 as part of a June 2 agreement in Istanbul. Ukrainian President Zelenskyy said the swap also included wounded soldiers and would continue in stages. Russia confirmed its soldiers returned via Belarus and are receiving care. No official numbers were shared.
