Within the scope of the traditional New Year tree lighting event in Kyrgyzstan, locals lighted a 25-meter-tall tree in Bishkek’s center square with the help of Kyrthe mayor, Emilbek Abdykadyrov.
The tree was illuminated with 7,000 toys, which represents the country’s 7 million population.
Syrian President Ahmed al-Shara visited the International Monetary Fund (IMF) headquarters in Washington during his talks with US President Donald Trump. He was welcomed by IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva.
Georgieva said on social media, “It was a privilege to host President Al-Shara at the IMF. We discussed the economic transformation Syrians need and deserve, and I reiterated the IMF’s readiness to assist through technical support to key institutions.”
