The scars of the war continue to be seen in the areas of the Ukraine that cleared from Russian forces. In the city of Borodianka, located in the Kyiv Oblast, many buildings were completely demolished and many civilians lost their lives after the clashes. The bodies of 26 more civilians were found in the debris removal and search efforts that started after the withdrawal of Russian forces from the city.
Meanwhile during the debris removal works, a Ukrainian woman who lost her family in Borodianka expressed her grief. “I just can’t believe what we’re going through. These are the people I work with, the people I live with. They took my father in the evening. Because I lived here, they were all people I knew. They were all in the shelter of this house,” the woman said.
