More than 50 balloons were flown on the first day of the 26th traditional European Balloon Festival, which will be held in Igualada, Spain, between 7-10 July. At the festival, balloon teams from Egypt, Argentina, Latvia, England, Switzerland, France, Portugal, Monaco, Italy and Spain are expected to organize races with Spanish teams from Galicia, Castilla la Mancha and Aragon.
The largest capacity balloon basket ever flown in Spain appeared in the sky during the festival, which has a capacity of 28 passengers and a size of 1.7 meters, produced by Ultramagic Balloons in Igualada.
The European Balloon Festival was first held in 1997 in Igualada. The festival hosts the shows of more than 50 balloon teams from different countries of the world for 4 days with the participation of more than 25,000 visitors in the first 2 weeks of July every year.
