Mexico’s National Center for Disaster Prevention (CENAPRED) reported that 3 new eruptions 128 gas and ash dispersion were recorded in Popocatepetl Volcano in the last 24 hours. Their report also included that the eruptions caused ashfall in many surrounding areas last night.
Locals of Puebla, a nearby city, woke up to see their environment and vehicles covered by ash. As panic has increased parallel to the activities of the volcano in recent days, the Puebla governor stated that the volcano is constantly monitored, and it currently poses no risk. He also stated that shelters across the state are kept ready and that emergency measures are regularly inspected.
