The number of people detained in the protests that began across Russia after the death of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny in prison increased to 400. According to protest monitoring group OVD-Info, the most detentions were in St. Petersburg, where most of Navalny’s supporters live.
Alexei Navalny, the Russian opposition leader, anti-corruption activist, and lawyer who was detained last year, was investigating the corruption cases of Russian President Vladimir Putin and his inner circle.
