More than 4,131 hectares have turned to ash so far in the forest fire that started on June 9 in the Mexican state of Sonora. Due to the fire, many wild animals perished, and material damage occurred on 10 nearby farms. Fifty percent of the fire was taken under control after a week of firefighting efforts by numerous fire brigades and military personnel.
There has been an increase in forest fires in the country due to the extremely hot and dry climatic conditions that arose in recent days, according to authorities.
