Heavy rains in Pakistan brought life to a standstill. 5 people, including children, lost their lives as a result of a truck being dragged by flood waters in Sibi city of Balochistan province. Making a statement regarding the accident in which the driver survived and 3 people were injured, the authorities stated that many passengers in the vehicle were drowned in the water and that the loss of life could increase. According local official, communication with many points in Sibi was cut off due to the flooding of the roads. Pakistan’s National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has instructed the Gilgit-Baltistan Disaster Management Authority (GBDMA) and regional disaster management authorities to be vigilant for the possibility of flash floods, landslides and strong winds.

Heavy Snowfall Hits England

Streets in many regions of England have been covered in white due to the heavy snowfall. The Meteorological Office announced that the snow depth reached 12 centimeters in Bingley in the north of the country and issued a level 2 warning for the central part of England, some parts of the northwest and most of Wales.

The heavy snowfall affected airports. Operations at Leeds Bradford, Manchester and Liverpool John Lennon, Birmingham and Bristol Airport were disrupted as their runways were covered in snow.

Snow depth is expected to reach 30 centimeters in the highlands of Wales and the north of England.
