A boat carrying 13 immigrants sank due to a storm shortly after sailing from Alaçatı Cleopatra Bay in the İzmir province of Türkiye at around 07.15 in the morning. As a result of ongoing search and rescue activities performed both on air and in the sea in adverse weather conditions, teams managed to rescue 6 people but found 5 others dead. The search is still continuing for the 2 missing people.
Lush Garden Survives Massive Forest Fire in Türkiye’s Bursa
A devastating forest fire in Türkiye’s Bursa province reduced 100 hectares to ash, but one garden in Gürsu’s Karahıdır village remained untouched. Despite the destruction, Halil Kiraz’s 25-acre nectar orchard stood green and intact. Kiraz credited his drip irrigation system, firebreak road, regular maintenance, and almsgiving: “Everything turned to ash, but my garden remained green.”
The fire began on July 26, 2025, prompting the evacuation of 1,765 people. Now extinguished, the contrast of Kiraz’s green orchard amid scorched land has drawn widespread attention.
