Upon a denouncement, Kayseri Provincial Directorate of Security Department of Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime (KOM) carried out a historical artifact operation to 2 detached houses located at Argıncık neighborhood of Kocasinan district in Kayseri, Turkey. In the operation, 2 suspects named Ö.D. and Z.E.T. taken into custody. During the searches, 5.100 historic coins and 2 different statues belonging to the Byzantine and Roman periods with a market value of 5 million TL and 1 rifle were seized. Officials stated that the seized materials will be delivered to the museum. Also it’s been learned that the suspects would try to take the historical artifacts abroad. The proceedings of the two detained suspects are continuing.
