The “Gebelein Man,” a 5,500-year-old mummy discovered in the Gebelein region of Egypt, is a major attraction at the British Museum in London, England. The mummy, known as the “Red Man” due to the red tint of his hair, was naturally preserved under desert sands and was found with a fatal wound on its right shoulder. In 2012, the mummy underwent tomography to gather detailed information about its condition. Museum officials remark that it’s one of the oldest remains in their collection.
