Violent incidents surge in Ecuador as police detain 68 individuals who attempted to seize control of a hospital in Yaguachi, Guayas province. The attackers, suspected to be linked to a gang, were apprehended and transported to the police station after being subdued and handcuffed. The operation resulted in the confiscation of numerous weapons and drugs. Authorities suggest the raid may have targeted a hospitalized gang member, and investigations are ongoing. Additionally, police raided a gang-converted “rehabilitation center” as part of a broader effort to close hundreds of health facilities clandestinely operated by criminal organizations in Ecuador.
Russian forces launched more than 500 drones and missiles across Ukraine, hitting infrastructure in 14 locations and injuring five people, including four railway workers. Ukraine’s rail operator reported major delays after facilities in the Kirovohrad region were damaged.
Explosions were reported in nine regions, with power cuts in Chernihiv, transport disruptions in Khmelnytskyi, and a warehouse fire in Ivano-Frankivsk. Ukraine said 430 drones and 21 missiles were intercepted, but some still struck targets.
