The Jukskei River in Johannesburg, South Africa, overflowed due to heavy rain. Nine members of a church service group on the riverbank were killed, and 15 others went missing. According to Johannesburg City Emergency Management Services Spokesperson Robert Mulaudzi, search and rescue efforts are ongoing. Mulaudzi also stated that the missing persons may have fled the area as the storm approached.
