The 90-million-dollar yacht “Tango” of Russian oligarch Viktor Vekselberg, known for his closeness to Russian President Vladimir Putin, was seized on the Spanish island of Mallorca at the request of the United States.

According to Spanish Civil Guard, it was stated that there was no sanction decision by the European Union (EU), but an investigation was launched in United State against Vekselberg, who has close relations with Putin, for tax evasion, money laundering and forgery of the document in order to hide the ownership of the yacht Tango. The operation was reportedly carried out at the request of the US authorities.
