Six people, including four children, were injured in a knife attack at a park in the Annecy region of France. Two of the children are in critical condition. The attack occurred around 09:45 local time near a lake. The attacker, who was caught and taken into custody in a short time after the attack, was reported to be 31 years old and a Syrian national. Eyewitnesses reported that the attacker shouted before targeting small children, including one in a stroller.
French Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne has arrived in Annecy and is expected to hold a press conference regarding the incident.
