The Turkish cargo ship, which was taken over by illegal immigrants after leaving Türkiye for the Sete Port of France, was taken under control by the special forces unit in the city of Naples. The ship’s crew was said to be in good health. Fifteen illegal immigrants, including two women, from Syria, Afghanistan, and Iraq were arrested.

Landslides triggered by heavy rain have killed 7 people and left at least 21 missing in southern China. In Guizhou province, 2 were confirmed dead and 19 are still unaccounted for in Qingyang village, where rescue efforts involving 400 personnel continue. Authorities issued alerts for nearby Hunan and Jiangxi provinces, warning of further landslide risks. Similar rainfall last week killed 7 in Guangdong and Guangxi.
