The silhouette of Atatürk, which appears on the Karadağ mountain in Türkiye’s Ardahan every year between 17:55 and 18:10 local time on June 15 and July 15, became visible again yesterday thanks to the clear weather. Visitors who came to witness the silhouette made by the natural structure of the mountains snapped several photographs.

The silhouette was first observed by a shepherd named Adıgüzel Kırmızıgül in 1954. Damal district has been organizing the ‘Damal Festivals in the Footsteps and Shadows of Atatürk’ in July every year since 1995.
