A demonstration by hundreds of immigrant protesters in the heart of Paris turned violent as the police intervened forcefully. The protesters, primarily homeless migrants seeking asylum, had set up tents to raise their voices and demand attention from the state. However, the square was ordered to be evacuated, leading to a clash between the demonstrators and the French police. At least 20 protesters were detained as tensions escalated. The protesters had previously occupied an abandoned school in the 16th district of Paris for the past two months.
Members of Italy’s opposition Five-Star Movement (M5S) wore black, white, and green T-shirts, representing the Palestinian flag, during a parliamentary session to protest the government’s stance on Gaza. Riccardo Ricciardi criticized Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni’s government for not recognizing the State of Palestine, despite widespread global recognition. Ricciardi accused the government of complicity in the ongoing conflict, calling it a “genocide” and condemning their support for what he described as “the greatest massacre of this century.”
