The incident in which a 17-year-old teenager named Nael M. was shot to death by the police in France sparked tension in Brussels as well. A group of young people around the Anneessens rail stop set piles of cardboard on fire, and the flames spread to a vehicle. The police blockaded the region with a large team. Ixelles police spokesperson said that the events started as a result of calls made on social media after the events in France and that the police had detained at least 10 people so far.
