The Turkish Geosciences Data and Core Data Bank (TÜVEK), which was established to archive the cores, samples and geological data documents obtained from the drillings for the exploration and production of mineral resources, will be the national library of Turkey’s mining. TÜVEK will have the second largest rock sample storage capacity in the world. Explaining that the current construction was completed in a short time of 421 days, Head of Environmental Studies Department Ayten Cesur said that repeated drillings across Turkey would be prevented. While saving labor, time and cost, all the information produced will remain in Turkey. The project will be completed in a total of 10 years in 4 stages on an area of 373,000 square meters.
