The extraordinary life story of Sarah Durrant, who came to Türkiye from England for her Turkish husband and started husbandry, astonishes those who hear it. During her visit to Türkiye’s Fethiye district of Muğla for a birthday holiday with her sister two years ago, Durrant met Turkish lover Ergün Baldır. The couple kept seeing each other for a while and decided to get married afterwards. Having frequently visited Türkiye since her childhood, Durrant decided to move to Türkiye to overcome the distance problem. The two then began working together as farmers, which was Baldır’s former job, to earn their living while being able to see each other more.
“I told her that this might be difficult, not an easy task. She said she loved animals and could do it. We have been taking care of animals together here for about eight months. She looks after all the animals in a completely professional way, as if she has been doing animal husbandry for years. She can even give them an injection when they get sick. We go to the animal markets together and decide to buy and sell together,” said Baldır
