Two climbers stranded at 3,000 meters in Turin, northern Italy, were successfully rescued by helicopter. A firefighter was deployed from the chopper using ropes to reach the mountaineers. Student-led protesters in Serbia have blockaded state broadcasters RTS and RTV, demanding management overhaul or complete shutdown due to alleged biased reporting. Tents were set up outside buildings in Belgrade and Novi Sad, blocking entry and disrupting broadcasts. RTS called the blockade illegal, while RTV’s head labeled it “terrorism.”
The protests follow a deadly building collapse in Novi Sad that killed 15 people in November 2024. Despite government reshuffles and resignations, demonstrations persist. President Aleksandar Vucic dismissed the unrest as a failed “color revolution.”
